I am shaking my head as I write this, but by now you know that I’m not afraid to call things as I see them and keep it real.
This week we’ve got to talk about something that casts a dark shadow on the journeys of otherwise rational, intelligent, professional, educated, accomplished, amazingly badass, fantastic women:
The Jinx.
I’m serious.
How many times have you caught yourself thinking or saying,
“I want to feel confident that I will be a Mom, BUT I don’t want to jinx things.”
You aren’t alone…in fact the number of times I hear some version of those words is astounding.
Dictionary.com defines jinx, which can be used a noun or verb, as: one that brings bad luck, or the state or spell of bad luck brought on by a jinx.
I’m raising this issue because, perfectly reasonable women are denying themselves the confidence, peace, and CERTAINTY they deserve due to superstition and the notion some malevolent force will smack them down with “bad luck,” because they dared to believe in themselves!
Can you relate?
I lived in fear of jinxing myself too and it did nothing FOR me–all it did was keep me small and insecure.
Don’t do this to yourself.
Here’s what the jinx is really about:
BELIEVING YOU ARE NOT WORTHY OF THE GOOD YOU DESIRE.
The jinx is the very essence of a limiting belief.
Limiting beliefs will keep you small–wallowing in fear, lack, scarcity, and STRESS.
Has believing in the jinx done anything to HELP put your baby in your arms?
Anything?
My ladies know that the real jinx is NOT believing in themselves.
They choose to make their own “luck” by putting more faith in their desires than their fears and ACT accordingly…which is why they are insanely successful.
Decide you will be one of them.
Change your mindset, change your results.
Intrigued? Here’s an exercise to take this to the next level…
Uncover the “real jinx.”
What is keeping you from boldly believing in your desires?
What is keeping you from being CONFIDENT you will be a Mom?
What are you telling yourself will happen if you dare to believe in YOU, despite present circumstances and evidence to the contrary?
What is possible for you by putting more faith in YOURSELF than in your fears?
Call these things out like a bully on the school yard–that’s what limiting beliefs are.
Journal about these 4 questions like your hair is on fire. The wisdom you can find in them will be the key to your freedom on this journey.
Stop letting your limiting beliefs block you from your baby.
